Adviser/Business Manager
Gain insight into the continuity role advisers play for their students. You’ll also cover time management, business contracts, yearbook marketing, legal issues organization and the yearbook printing business.

Editorial Leadership
Learn invaluable skills to aid you in your role as editor in chief or managing/assistant editor. You’ll concentrate on developing management skills, deadline planning, time management, goal setting and effectively dealing with staff members.

Section Editors
Develop story ideas and designs for your section and learn keys to time management and leadership skills. You’ll gain experience leading and being part of a team.

Design
Give your book a new look and a fresh visual face. You’ll learn typography, grid design and creative handling of the traditional design elements (note: this session does not teach the computer programs). Bring laptops and design programs so you can start designing your book.

Feature Writing
Kick your body copy up a notch by learning to hook your reader with writing that makes the story of the year come alive. Interviewing, reporting, organizing and feature writing are covered. You’ll be teamed with a photographer on one assignment.

Photography
Focus on composition, lighting, editing and organizing files. Practical experience is the standard for this session and you should bring a digital camera for production work during the workshop. Also, you’ll be teamed with a feature writer on one assignment.
